Thngs I REALLY want but probably won't buy

I LOVE Fall. It is my favorite season and I think it is mainly because I love the clothes and shoes! Here are some things I've found that are now on my wish list - that wish list that would be applicable if I did not have three children to send to college, etc.

#1: these boots at Sole Searching in Southport, NC.
I LOVE them very very much.
#2: This sweater/coat from Anthropologie on sale at ebay
#3: This Nanette Lepore suit - also a find on ebay
I have to say, I would only feel more fabulous in this if it were a sagey green instead of blue

This is not to say that I have bought nothing for Fall.
I have - beautiful things but more in line with my budget!
What is on your wish list?

Dad's Roll Tide Hippie Bus - the more things change, the more they stay the same

In Honor of Alabama Homecoming and CJP's birthday it is my Dad's Roll Tide Van. When I was growing up we did a lot of camping in a bright orange VW popup. Some things have changed a lot but the soundtrack is pretty much the same. As always, RTR! and Happy Birthday Carol. xo
And I gotta say, the houndstooth is a nice touch, Dad.

Halloween

I have not lived in a neighborhood in what feels like eons!  I am hoping for a lot of Trick or Treaters but the decorating pressure! I went searching for groovy (and affordable) ideas to really get into the Halloween spirit and jail or no jail, you gotta love Martha.
Yes, this would take some work but for the cost a few pumpkins and candles and a little sweat equity, this is a beautiful idea for decorating the stairs, the front stoop and the walk way leading up to the house.

This is a large carved out pumpkin suspended with rope to tree branches.
Carved turnips made into a mobile or hang them from the trees!
Brown paper bags with votive candles to light the way with a phrase or two
Window Silhouettes - a little ambitious for moi but a GREAT idea!

any one who knows me, knows I love owls. . .

BOO!

Airstreams and the promise of the open road

I have long had a fascination with the idea of leaving everything behind and going on the ultimate road trip.
Poetic Home has a great blog piece about re-purposing the Vintage Airstream for a creative space.

Personally, I think it would  be the perfect guest room for company. Just park it out in the driveway and voila. They come with a bathroom and a kitchen!

Something like this perhaps
The Designer Kristina Spaulding has redesigned a fleet of Airstreams and they are better than most guest rooms I've been in. You can even rent them!

I want her job
Don't you?
There are some other great websites for refurbished Airstreams and Motorhomes in general.
Here are a few:

See you on the road. . . or in the driveway

Happy Trails!
